Mesa Canyon: San Juan River
This scenic float through mesa canyon on the San Juan River offers small to moderate rapids (class I to III whitewater). The emphasis is on the scenic beauty and wildlife of this rural wilderness area. The sandstone walls of this valley have been sculpted by the wind and water to form an incredible a variety of surrealistic shapes and colors. Bird life along the river is tremendous. This beginning/intermediate trip can be all ages from 4 to 80+. You need not be a swimmer. The whitewater here is fun and bouncy. We provide rain gear to protect you from the splash or in the event of rain while we are on the river. There are two departures for this 6 hour float through Mesa Canyon. Midway through the trip, we will stop for a break in the canyon for lunch. The morning trip leaves from the Fairfield Activities Center at 8am and returns around 1:30pm the next trip goes out at 2pm and returns around 7:30pm. · Included: Transportation, guides, drinks, river gear, and waterproof gear bags. · Lunch provided for an additional cost (or bring your own) · Bring and wear: Waterproof camera, hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, Shoes that can get wet, and wear synthetics (nylon, poly).
