Mesa Verde National Park Cliff Dwelling Tour ˇ 10 Hour Tour: Departs at 8am and returns around 6pm available Monday through Saturday. Join us for a trip back in time to the ancient Indian cliff dwelling of the Anasazi. If you enjoy ancient civilizations in remote places, and experiencing other cultures you will love this mini expedition to Mesa Verde National Park. We travel from Fairfield Pagosa via Durango past the rugged LaPlata Mountains up on the high green Mesa Verde Plateau. Transportation, binoculars, park fees and our historian guide are included in the price of this tour. After entering the park, we begin our travel back in time 1,000 years or so as we gaze in awe at the giant cliff villages from the rim of Navajo Canyon. The amazing story of the mysterious Anasazi gradually unfolds as we drive along the canyon rim listening to our historian guide. We will have lunch at the park café. After lunch we will descend into the canyon to reach an ancient cliff dwelling situated within a giant shelter cave. Our park guide will describe the amazing life style and customs of the ancient people as we explore this incredible structure. Bring and Wear: Camera, Binoculars, walking shoes, sweater or jacket for cooler weather, spending money for the gift shop and lunch. |
