Piedra River Box Canyons

  • 1, 2, & 3 day trips

Beginning high in the San Juan National Forest, this 30-mile river journey offers spectacular vistas, craggy canyons, hauntingly beautiful spruce/fir forests, and some of the most challenging whitewater in the four corners area. The 1,000 ft walls of the upper and lower box canyons loom high over head as we carefully negotiate exciting class III, IV, and V rapids. Tumbling down the western slope of the Rockies at the foot of the Continental Divide, this wild little river forges a narrow path through a maze of colorful geologic formations.

  • Upper and lower canyons: 1 day, 2 day (with 1 night campout), and 3 day (with 2 night campout).
  • Included: Guides, boats, paddles, life vests, meals while on river, waterproof gear bags, shuttles to and from river, and all miscellaneous river gear.
