Wayne Walls founder of Wilderness Journeys and Pagosa Rafting Outfitters has been enjoying the outdoors and making his mark for many years. Wayne has been connecting people with wilderness experiences since 1969. In 1972 he was the Texas state kayaking champion, also in that same year Wayne and his brother won the Texas marathon canoe racing championship. The following year Wayne was president of the United States Canoe Association. His love for the outdoors has kept him very busy and along the way he has rafted ,canoed, and kayaked in 25 states and 4 countries. Wayne is married to Nancy Lu, and in seeing Nancy with Wayne on the river , I know why Wayne is with Nancy. After talking with Nancy and reveling in her knowledge I see why Nancy is with Wayne. Truly a match made in heaven. Wayne has a son, Ted in Texas who visits often with grandson Noah. His foster children: Rick is in Canada, Virginia is working in Yellowstone, and Delta will graduate this year from Pagosa Springs High . As Wayne awaits the changing seasons you can find him outdoors skiing, rafting, canoeing, hiking, or enjoying a blue grass festival. |
